I know Chasing Pavements just got big, but believe me, I've been listening to it since November of last year. Kanye West had the video on his blog, and thats my hands down favorite video of all time by the way. ANYWAY, so i love Adele's music. Now, on to the rapper. Naledge is the other half of Kidz In The Hall which is a great group aswell. They had the song Drivin' Down The Block and Love Hangover which were both great songs. My personal favorite of theirs is Lucifer's Joyride featuring Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes. So you basically can understand why a rapper i think is dope remixing a singer i think is dope makes this song PURE CONCENTRATED GREATNESS in my eyes, right?

My opinion, this one is better. The new one felt like a club song that didnt have enough bump in it, this one has a slow vibe that suits the track better. Although, Kanye West on the hook of the new one was a good feature.

Common is back, but honestly, im not too excited. I like the fact that hes trying to broaden his range of sound. If you havent heard the story behind his new song, at a club his Dj was playing music and Common realized his own dj hadnt played 1 of his own songs all night. Common decided he wanted to have music he could hear at the club. Originally, this was just going to be a short EP, but i guess he decided to turn it into an album. I do like the songs, but of course, i'm just used to the old Common with thought provoking lyrics and chill beats you can vibe to, but i guess the young crowd finds that boring.

He'll have a new album out next year, rumored to be produced by Kanye West and the legendary No.I.D. called The Believer.

As for Chester French, they're a 2 man band signed to Pharrell's label. I heard about them towards the begining of this year when The Rolling Stones had an article about them. I like them and cant wait for their full length album. Look them up on myspace.

Another Dipset Christmas

I remember when they came out with a christmas mixtape last year and it actually wasn't that bad. This song is pretty good to me. Just like their last christmas mixtape, they make christmas songs that aren't exactly about christmas but themed around it. Dipset is also one of the few artists that shoot videos for their mixtape songs. Also, this is only the intro to the mixtape. Jim Jones always has the best intro to all of his projects.

Some people can't believe im a Jim Jones fan because Jim disses Kanye alot. I just look past the beef and focus on the music. Plus, i've been listening to Dipset since I was 13 years old and they, to me, are the strongest "movement" to ever come out next to Wu-Tang and The Juice Crew.

Here at the Flying Snake Society, i only post what i feel is creative and original. Now i've been rocking with Drake ever since i heard Replacement Girl (classic) and City Is Mine (the anthem of anthems). I have both of his mixtapes, and this song will be featured on his next mixtape coming out soon. He's also working on his debut album, Thank Me Later. Both Drake and Lykke Li are from Canada. Lykke Li is dope too. I love her music. The original song she made is a personal favorite of mine, so now that Drake hopped on it, its an instant classic for me.

So as far as Kevin Rudolf goes, i think he's ok. When Let It Rock first came out, i heard mixed reviews. Of course the people who's only source of new music is the radio, love this song. It's as mainstream as it gets. I don't know whether to call it Pop music or Rock music. Instead, im just going to call it good music. I think hes pretty good. I mean he's not my personal favorite, but i wouldn't post this song if i didn't think the whole deserved to hear its goodness. Although, i probably wont be getting his album, or playing his music over and over again waiting for him to drop another CD.

Troy thinks Lil Wayne's verse from Let It rock was the best verse he ever did. Ill admit, it was good, but people don't understand, im a Lil Wayne-ologist. I know he has better verses than that. An i especially know that he couldve had WAY better verses on The Carter 3, but all the concepts of the songs were good though, especially Dr.Carter.

Hmm, a song that features 2 artist that I was listening to before everybody else, atleast where i live anyway. Will I Stay is actually a pretty old song, and he JUST now shot a video for it and made it his first single. The first songs i heard from him were World Of Pain, Writing, and Your Braids. Wale! is a rapper that is coming with a very new sound of music. As a rapper, he's incredible, and is one of my favorite underground artist that are finally making their way into the mainstream. In the future, there will defidently be more post on both Colin Munroe and Wale!, until then, get yourself acquainted with them both with this track.

Oh, and Dallas Austin is the producer behind this record and also CEO of the record label Colin's signed to. I don't know much about him, but i hear he's produced alot of great songs for alot of different people, including mainstream and underground.

808's & Heartbreak Review by Debonair

First of all, i'd just like to say that if you don't consider Kanye a living legend in hip hop, then i humbly disagree with you my good sir. After this album comes out and all is said and done, there will be a difference in music as we know it. The sound won't change, but the perception will. Hip Hop heads will give other genres a chance, and indie heads, in disbelief that a rapper could put together such an album, will give more hip hop a chance.

808's & Heartbreak is a solid album. Every track is good. None of the songs sound the same, but they all have the same tone. I feel like musically, the production is on some epic, classical type ish in a way, but with a 2008 revamp. All the beats use 808 drums, but theyre not the new type of 808's we young producers are acustomed to. These are the old school 808's that make everything sound like they're african drums. Now that explains 808's, but in an interview, Kanye revealed what Heartbreak is. Heartbreak is the style inwhich he was signing, which he describes as the use of autotune and distortion combined. Now lets get into the tracks..

Say You Will - a good start to the album, if anyones been in a relationship where their expectations were completely un-met, this is the song for you.

Welcome To Heartbreak - Supposedly the 4th single coming from the album. I would've preferred this as the opener, but oh well, still dope. The old version was better, but the added keys aren't that bad after you get used to them. Kanye basically speaks on missing out on the simpler things of life, and reveals that although he got his dreams of super stardom fullfilled, he missed out on the best things life have to offer, love.

Heartless - Possibly, the most hip hop influenced song, and actually my least favorite. Not to say that its not dope, every track is incredible, this is just the least incredible. If You've ever been hurt by a someone who seemed to have disregarded all of your feelings, that person might just be somewhat..Heartless. Ok, that was corny, i know.

Amazing - Apparently, the 3rd single for the album. The message of this song is to not let the person that hurt you take away the best things about you. Basically saying that, you can break his heart, but he's still going to be the amazing person he is and you'll never take that away from him.

Love Lockdown - Everyone should know this song by now. Its basically about wanting to love someone, but not being able to because your not willing to let yourself be vulnerable, and in the end you'll only end up more alone.

Paranoid(Anyways) - The title speaks for itself. Its about your partner being paranoid and worrying about things they dont need to worry about. This song has a real cool 80's pop vibe to it that you have to love or you have no soul.

Robocop - Following the same concept as the last song, but this time with a more creative theme. It reveals itself more and more throoughout the song, but Kanye's the Robot, and his girls the Robocop. She checks up on everything he does and tries to dictate his moves. The production really shines here, and is my personal favorite.

Streetlights - Another favorite. A real abstract type of song. The song can have a different personal meaning depending on who's listening. Its does make you reflect on life. It puts you in the zone.

Bad News - Remember when the person you cared about the most came out of nowhere and broke your heart? Well here you go.

See You In My Nightmares - A personal F*** YOU to the one who broke your heart.

Coldest Winter - A very sad song. Kanye says that this one is about his mom's passing. Saying that it hurt so much, he didn't think he'd every be able to love anyone again. Kanye's said in interviews that if he never became so famous, this might've never happened.

Pinocchio Story - The last track basically comes back to where we left off on Welcome To Heartbreak. While WTHB details the experiences that have led him to his sadness, this one reveals the realization he's gotten through that sadness. He wants to be a real boy. He's said many times, he lives the life of a celebrity, but he doesn't consider himself an actual celebrity. The song is completely acapella, done in a kind of poetic style. A fitting closing to a great album.

While i LOVE this album, i do have 1 problem with it. I'm a deep Kanye fan, you should all know this, so i've been listening to him since College Dropout. Infact, College Dropout is my favorite cd of all time. Now my problem isn't with the fact that he's signing, when you're an artist, its understandable that how you go about your art changes to accomodate what you're trying to express. I was only a little disappointed with the subject matter in this album. I'm proud of the fact that he was once again, able to put his honesty through his music. Kanye, to me, is the most honest musician in this time. My only problem is that all 3 of his previous albums have had a wide variety of subjects, each song having a different concept that you can relate to your life. This however, has the same theme, relationships. Although i rather listen to this than the regular r&b songs on the radio that only talk about, love, sex, and cheating, i have to say that there is alot more to my life and to this world, than girlfriends and boyfriends. Although, on his last albums, his experiences with his relationships have not been addressed, so its good to see once again, that Kanye West isn't afraid to show that he's as human as the rest of us.

A very dumb person once asked to explain this line in the song to him

There is obviously no meaning, except for the fact he is telling a story about his life, and his loneliness.
But I did like this explanation.
"I think the entire song's just about how everyone around him is enjoying the things that matter in life, while he's gotten so caught up with the hip-hop lifestyle, that he has forgotten all about what it means to have someone who loves you.
In this line specifically, he's saying that while his godsister has found someone she wants to spend the rest of her life with, he can't even think of a person he likes enough to take them to the wedding.

The worst part about this video, is that things like this happen everyday. Its more apparent to see the racism when they say things like "I deserve to be hung", but mocking black people in a stereotypical way happens all the time. Its just kind of sad that people still think this way.

The world is mad because Obama ran the best race EVER. His victory was completely in the people's hands. He didn't accept money from big corporations, he took small donations an all the volunteer support he could. This was one of the first times the system actually worked for the people.

Also, white people got their swagg back. We couldn't of done it without you. Black, Whites, and all other races came together, tore down the barriers of difference, and made this man victorious.

Obama represents so much. His father, Kenyan, his mother, a white woman from Kansas, falling inlove and having a child. After his father left, they struggled and from not much, he came up to be one of the most successful people in our nations history. He inspired so many, he honestly changed the world. He represents the slow decline of racial difference, the strong will to overcome adversity, and most of all, the fact that we have the ability to achieve all of our dreams.
